DMi is proud to sponsor WOODY RUSSELL 7:00 pm  May 27, 2017   Critically acclaimed, award-winning vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Woody Russell is a contemporary troubadour with one foot in the jazz-blues tradition while the other stands firmly in defiance of any categorization. He’s recorded a body of work that spans from folk-roots infused fare on his first album, As Simple As That (1996), to highly praised recordings, Salt( 2005) and Up Against It (2010). Pop-jazz offerings Delicious Days (2013) and Carry It Up (2016) further his exploration of sophisticated “adult music.” Russell tours listening rooms and theaters across North America with his world-class trio. “A love fest of blues, jazz and soul.” Russell’s trio (Lloyd Wright, keys and Jose Ruiz, jazz harmonica) can perform 2-3 hours of original songs along with select covers. The trio employs traditional instrumentation (vocals, guitar, piano, harmonica, percussion) but also the use of electronics (loops, digital audio technology).

Amber was raised in Nashville by parents who have been in country music for decades. Amber realized her dreams of becoming a country music singer at the age of three. She recorded her first album in 2002 and she has created an overwhelming base of fans from all over the world. Amber Digby and her band Midnight Flyer tour regularly as an American country and honky tonk band that is breaking ground in modern country music. When not on the road with his quartet, Bryan regularly tours with the Tommy Dorsey, Nelson Riddle, and Glenn Miller Orchestras. His tours have taken him around the world where he puts his unique stamp on the greatest songs of the 20th century written by the greats such as Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Rodgers and Hart, and Jerome Kern. All of the music in the program consists of songs– and stories of songs– mostly composed during the “Tin Pan Alley” days of the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s. Bryan and his band provide an evening of music that pays homage to the life and times of the “golden age” of American songwriting.

DMi is proud to sponsor TEJAS BROTHERS 7:00 pm  August 12, 2017  When rock 'n' roll meets Tex-Mex in a honky tonk that is home to the blues, you get the Tejas Brothers. This quartet absolutely disregards any notions of staying within a certain “genre.” If it feels good, and makes people happy, it ought to be a Tejas Brothers song. Shows are family-friendly and focus on the idea that we only live once, and we should all get the most out of life. In 2013, the Dallas Observer Music Awards named the Tejas Brothers “Best Country Act.” Their latest CD, “Live a Little More,” was produced by Lloyd Maines. In 2009, they had the #7 album on the Americana Radio Airplay Charts. The Tejas Brothers is a four-piece band comprising accordion, upright bass, guitar, and drums. Shows can be acoustic or electric, and up to two hours in length. The Tejas Brothers’ repertoire of original and cover songs include: Boogie Woogie Mamacita (original); I Can’t Sleep (original); Don’t Be So Mean (original); Seven Spanish Angels; Hey Baby Que Paso; Crying Time; and El Sapito
